Espacios Verdes is a plant nursery in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico that carries a wide selection of native and exotic plants, cacti, and more. The company recently purchased a Wood-Mizer LX450 portable sawmill in order to build palm roofs, plant displays, furniture, and other wood products to supplement their business.
“What we've learned in this business is reforestation, garden design and maintenance, and plant care,” says Gerónimo Guzmán de Ara, Business Administrator of Espacios Verdes.
“We recently received our Wood-Mizer LX450 sawmill. Since we've had it, it has benefitted us in many ways. We use our mill for slab cuts, furniture design, and to repurpose and recycle wood,” says Gerónimo.
“The first time I saw the machine was at an expo,” says Misael Reyes Naranjo, Sawmills Operator at Espacios Verdes. “My boss told me, "This machine is ours!" I was amazed the first time I saw it, but not fully aware of the machine's capability. Since then, I've had the chance to use it, and it's quite simple to operate. The machine basically works on its own,” explains Misael.
“We bought a Wood-Mizer sawmill because it's the start of the entire process. We buy and receive the log, then we can start cutting it. We can saw boards, cants, or round logs to build palm roofs, which is very common here in Cancun and the rest of the Peninsula. We’re able to use everything from the bark to even the sawdust. The machine serves us in many ways and truly makes all tasks easier,” says Misael.
“The Wood-Mizer sawmill will strengthen Espacios Verdes’ business by allowing us to continue growing and expanding. We'll be getting more products and more material that we didn't handle before acquiring this machine. I believe it will have a great impact on the company, and on myself as an employee of the company. Investing in this sawmill will be worth it,” says Gerónimo.
