At the heart of the machine is a 14 HP Kohler gas engine that delivers dependable power in any season. To ensure longevity in harsh environments, the engine features a Quad-Clean™ four-stage cyclonic air filter designed to protect internal components during heavy sawing. This robust power system supports a massive cutting capacity, enabling you to process logs up to 32 inches in diameter into boards as wide as 30 inches. While the standard 11-foot bed length is suitable for many projects, it can be expanded to unlimited lengths using optional bed extensions.
The integrated GO Trailer package provides total portability, featuring a heavy-duty steel frame and a single axle for easy transport to remote locations. Upon arrival, six adjustable outriggers allow you to level the mill and begin sawing directly on the trailer at any job site. Unlike standard bolt-together mills, the LT15START utilizes a welded steel box bed frame that provides superior weight distribution and exceptional stability during log handling.
Operational precision is managed through a quick up/down sawhead and a precision crank handle. With 16 locking locations per rotation, you can adjust blade depth to within 1/16 of an inch for repeatable, professional-grade cuts. The powerful and dependable Kohler Command Pro 14HP gas engine features Quad-Clean™ all-season four-stage cyclonic air filter for effective engine protection even in tough and dirty sawing conditions. Plus, a large-capacity fuel tank means more time sawing and less time refueling.
Quick Sawhead Up/Down with Crank Handle
Quickly and accurately move the sawhead up and down to prepare for sawing with the crank handle. Easily turn the handle clockwise or counterclockwise with 16 locking locations to adjust the blade depth 1” for each full rotation or 1/16” for each notch to prepare for the next cut. A quarter scale is also included for sawing 8/4”, 6/4”, 5/4”, and 4/4” lumber.
Precision Sawing with Thin-Kerf Sawmill Blades
Engage the sawmill blade with the convenient pull handle that engages the mechanical clutch. The LT15START sawmill uses 158” length sawmill blades. We recommend having at least 10 sawmill blades on hand to minimize sawing downtime when sharpening blades. With the ability to saw as precise as 1/16” with the thin-kerf sawmill blade, you get the most usable lumber out of every log.
Clean Blades with Gravity-Fed Blade Lubrication
Keep the sawmill blade cool and free of pitch, sap, and sawdust while sawing with the gravity-fed blade lubrication that applies directly to the blade. A water tank conveniently located close to the operator is easy to refill and features an on/off valve for consistently distributing lubrication to the blade.
Extra Durable Sawmill Bed with Box Steel Rails and Cross Sections
The sawmill bed adds extra strength and durability where it counts with box steel bed rails and cross sections featuring wide top surface areas for better weight distribution and easier log handling. Each cross section is welded to the bed rails for added stability. In addition, the entire sawmill bed is painted and constructed of the same premium solid steel throughout the bed to last for years, not seasons.
Secure Logs with 1 Quick-Set Log Clamp
Constructed of strong tube steel, the quick-set log clamp tightly fastens logs for sawing and is adjustable up/down and in/out as material is cut. The log clamp uses an acme thread screw for better durability and a clamp point block for an extra grip on a round log or squared cant.
Support Logs with 4 Quick-Set Side Supports
Four strong steel quick-set side supports are adjustable up/down to stabilize logs on the bed during loading, turning, clamping, and sawing. Each side support is mounted directly on the bed and includes rust-resistant paint for durability. An additional built-in bed side support on each cross section eliminates the need for adjustable side supports while sawing a squared cant and allows for final cuts within 1” of the bed.
Optional GO Trailer
GO completely portable by adding a GO Trailer to your LT15START portable sawmill. Complete with a durable steel frame, single axle, two wheels, two fenders, set of 6 adjustable outriggers, lights, and hitch, the GO Trailer for LT15 portable sawmills allows sawing logs directly on the trailer with the ability to easily hook-up and GO to your next sawing site. The LT15START requires an extra bed section to be compatible with a GO Trailer.
